A Little Bit About Me!

My Story...

Two of my biggest passions growing up were art and animals. My family owned dogs, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and all kinds of pets, so it’s unsurprising that animals became my biggest subject from a young age!

My colourful paintings started to gain some attention during my final years of school and sixth form so I began to sell the occasional painting and framed print! After school I went on to do an Art & Design foundation course followed by a degree in Graphic Design & Illustration. During this time I painted and sold my art when I could and knew that one day I wanted to make a career out of it.

I graduated from university in June 2021 during a time where Covid was making things very difficult for graduates to find careers. This pushed me to bite the bullet and go straight into self employed life!

Since making that big decision I have managed to hit many exciting targets! My highlights so far are:

In September 2022 I hit my businesses one year anniversary and organised my first ever solo exhibition. My opening evening was such a big hit, so many people attended and I was absolutely buzzing for days!

In October 2022 I collaborated with NEXT HOME for the first time and created a painting of a highland cow. Prints of this were sold online and in 200 NEXT HOME stores around the UK. They are still available now. Since then I have produced another painting for NEXT HOME and my highland cow is now being printed onto some of their homeware sets.

In December 2022 I organised and put together a joint exhibition with 3 other artists. It was hugely successful for all 4 of us and has now become a yearly tradition. We have our next one in June 2024!

In March 2023 I travelled to Zimbabwe and spent a month volunteering on a safari park looking after African animals. I gained so much inspiration and came back with hundreds of my own photographs to work from in the future.

In November 2023 I had a trade stand at my biggest show yet - The Country living Christmas fair in Harrogate. It was so exciting to be surrounded by other small businesses for the 4 days and to see my stock of prints very nearly sell out!

In December 2023 I bought my first home, which will be the new home for my business too! The house is a big project and has an outhouse at the back which I am currently renovating into my studio!

I am so proud of what I’ve managed to achieve so far and I look forward to seeing what the future holds!
